Vision :
To see a sound Nepal in the cyberspace.

Objective :
To enhance the security of Nepalese Information and Communications Infrastructure through proactive action and effective collaboration.

Constituency :
The NepCERT constituency is the Nepalese Cyber-community and citizens of Nepal.

Mission :
· To promote the overall cause of information security in Nepal.
· To provide a single point of contact for reporting local problems.
· To assist the organizational constituency and general computing community for the effective prevention, detection, and recovery from computer security incidents.
· To provide a means for the communication of alert and advisory information on potential threats and emerging incident situations.
· To promote the sharing of computer security information, tools, and techniques
· To assist members in implementing proactive measures to reduce the risks of computer security incidents
· To provide professional security services including recovery procedures, artifact analysis, incident tracing, risk analysis information security audits etc. to harden networks from intruder attacks.
· To conduct training, research and development.
· To enhance international cooperation to assert the security of the Nepalese networking community.

NEPCERT shall provide services to improve the security of computer systems so as to reduce the risk of unauthorized access and financial/data loss.

NEPCERT shall operate with the mutual consent and co-operation of its partners (Like CAN, Nepal Government, ISPN, Nepal Police, Telecom & Private IT sector).

[ Report A Computer Security Incident ]

The purpose of the NepCERT Incident Reporting Scheme is to provide a mechanism :

  • To collect and analyze reports about computer security incidents affecting Nepal’s computer and information networks.
  • To enable us to better inform the Nepali public about computer network attack activity, threats and trends, and protection strategies.
  • To make reports to Internet Service Providers, administrators, and other CSIRTs.
  • To isolate the machines from which the attack originated.
